"Space Knowledge Test" conducted by Engineers' Forum, Nagpur
for students of Engineering Colleges & Polytechnics

Report of Prize Distribution Programme

This function was organised at VNIT Auditorium, some of students came well before time and were suitably engaged and entertained by our Er. S. S. Shirkhedkar.

Er. Animesh Chatterjee acting Director, VNIT, Er. Tayade, Secretary, EFN, Er. Gandhewar, Treasure, EFN, Er. P. K. Kulkarni, Hospitality Committee Member, welcomed GoH and President of function.

Er. Shirkhedkar welcomed all and elaborated the event. Er. Animeto Chatterjee welcomed Guests and gathering and highlighted the activities and achievement of VNIT. Dr. YVN Krishnamurthy spoke about the applications of space, science and answered to the querries of students, already submitted to him by EFN. It was knowledgeable, inspiring speech.

Hon. K. Radhakrishnan briefed the students in very simple language, the achievement of ISRO space programme, its future, plans, its cost effectiveness, about Chandrayan and Mangalyan (MOM) and also included some of the querries from student and got heavy applause from students.

Er. S. D. Shinde, President elaborated "Space Knowledge Test" at preliminary and final stage and thanked Raman Science Centre for help. 330 students from 33 Engineering Colleges / Polytechnics were present, Prizes and Certificates were given to 33 students at the hands of Er. Tayade, Er. Chatterjee, Dr. Y.V.N. Krishnamurthy.

Finally the 3rd, 2nd and 1st prizes and certificates were given to the winner at the hands of Hon. GoH. A photo was taken with the winners. Vote of thanks was proposed by Er. K. C. Tayade, Secretary, EFN and the programme concluded with National Anthem. Refreshment packets were distributed to all students. High tea was arranged for guests and committee members.

The function was a grand success and was nicely organised and so everyone who organised and participated deserves sincere thanks.

Report of Space Knowledge Test

Dear Engineers,

As part of Engineers' Day 2016 Celebration, Engineers' Forum, Nagpur has planned to organise the "Space Knowledge Test" for students of Engineering Colleges and Polytechnic, because our Guest of Honour is Padmabhushan Er. K. Radhakrishnan, Ex. Chairman, ISRO and President of the function is Dr. Y. V. N. Krishnamurthy, Director, NRSC, ISRO, Hyderabad.

We approached about 40 Engineering Colleges and Polytechnics and had discussion with the Principals and other faculties. The test was planned in two stages. Preliminary test was conducted at respective colleges on 24th August 2016 in morning. In all 33 nos. Engineering Colleges and Polytechnics participated. The response from students was very encouraging and about 8000 students participated in the test with zeal.

The EFN Volunteers and faculties from few colleges did wonderful work of evaluation of papers and 10 students were selected from each participating colleges and were intimated to appear for the final test to be conducted at Raman Science Centre on 27th August (Saturday) at 10.30 am where excellent facilities were provided by the officers of Raman Science Centre, Nagpur.

All the 33 colleges participated in the final test, totalling 295 students. The lack of proper communication and coordination, deprived some students from participating in the final test, which is regretted. Suitable actions will be taken to avoid such occurrences.

All the participants have been informed and invited to be present in the function at VNIT auditorium on 17th Sept. 2016 (Saturday) at 1.00 pm sharp. Our Guest of Honour Padmabhushan Er. K. Radhakrishnan, Ex. Chairman, ISRO and President of the function is Dr. Y. V. N. Krishnamurthy, Director, NRSC, ISRO, Hyderabad will be addressing the students, guide them about their career and answer their querries. They will also be distributing the prizes and certificates to the winners of the Final Test.
